The National Fire Protection Association recommends that homeowners have their chimney and dryer vent inspected at least once a year.
Mr. Soot’s Chimney Sweeps offer a full range of chimney and venting system services. Whether it’s woodstoves, fireplaces, chimneys, or dryer vents, we understand the workings of the venting systems in your home. And we’re equipped to address your maintenance and safety needs. Our services include:
Chimney Inspections & Sweeping
We use state-of-the-art equipment to inspect and sweep 1st & 2nd story chimneys. While sweeping your system, we look for any apparent problems that could prevent peak performance and we will recommend what is needed for your system to burn cleanly and safely.
Dryer Vent Cleaning & Repair
In addition to servicing chimneys, we inspect and clean dryer vents. A thorough cleaning by our dryer vent technicians includes searching for any apparent defects that may restrict the proper flow of air through the vent. Is your dryer vented with a combustible plastic hose or other flexible material? If so, we can re-route it with a proper rigid metal vent that meets current codes and standards.
Flue Video Scans
We can use a special mini video camera to inspect the inside of the chimney. This gives us a close-up view (within inches) of the interior of the flue liner. This is the best way to evaluate the interior condition of your flue liner.
If yours is cracked or poorly constructed—allowing water penetration —we’ll repair it, or we’ll build a proper one that’s guaranteed not to crack
Install Chimney Caps
The best way to prevent rain, animals, leaves, and other debris from entering your chimney is to install a chimney cap. Our high quality stainless steel and copper caps carry a lifetime warranty.
Replace Chase Tops
Leaky, corroded, or damaged metal chase tops, are potential hazards on prefabricated metal fireplaces. We help eliminate problems before they start by replacing rusty metal chase tops.
Water Leak Repair / Waterproofing
If water is entering in or around your fireplace or chimney, let us fix the problem. Flashing repair, mortar repair, or the application of water repellent may be needed.
